Timber Frame Homes

A Custom Timber Frame Builder

As a full-service, custom builder, B&D Builders combines its precision engineering, hand-built craftsmanship and attention to detail to design and build a custom timber home that fits your style and exceeds your expectations.

We have a personal approach to our projects and our clients, which isn’t always the case with contractors. We care about the wellbeing of the families who end up living in our homes and want our thoughtful design process to make their day-to-day lives easier. For design ideas, view our gallery.

Our Process

Our team specializing in the centuries-old techniques and traditions of timber framing, using state-of-the-art machinery along with the tradition of joining heavy timber frames with a mortise and tenon method, supported by wooden pegs and brackets. Our process involves professional 3D drawings let you analyze your house from top to bottom, layer by layer – before the building starts. With our in-house millwork and timber shops we build hard-to-find and custom components and create beautiful timber trusses, to complement one room or to create an entire timber frame home.

Our timbers come from well-managed forests. We follow responsible practices to remain among the most environmentally friendly builders. We also use passive design techniques to take advantage of natural climate to maintain thermal comfort. And, with the insulating panels we place around the timber frame structure you enjoy greater energy efficiency than conventional framed walls.
